Former Ondo State Attorney General and commissioner for Justice, Eyitayo Jegede SAN, has drummed support for the Anti-Corruption Cases Trial Monitoring Committee headed by Justice Ayo Salami.

The committee was recently set up by the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Walter Onoghen.

Speaking to newsmen after a special court session to herald the 2017/2018 legal year in Ondo state held at the High Court premises in Akure, Jegede said the committee would no doubt help the fight against corruption.

“I believe the intention of the CJN is to ensure that we dispose justice speedily, especially corruption cases and by and large, the idea is to monitor what happens to these cases. All of us believe we must fight corruption and I think the CJN’s move is a step in the right direction.”

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the Ondo November 2016 governorship election also expressed confidence in the committee comprising past NBA Presidents and president of the Court of Appeal.
