Let Us Continue to Strengthen Our Bonds of Unity and Promote Tendencies That Elevate – Eyitayo Jegede SAN
In a determined bid to reposition the PDP in Ondo State for the tasks ahead, the party held a stakeholders meeting yesterday in Akure.
The meeting which had in attendance the State Party Chairman, Engr. Clement Faboyede, Chairman of the State Elders Caucus, Dr. Dairo, Otuba Oluwateru, Dr. Kola Ademujimi, members of the State Working Committee, members of the State Elders Caucus, House of Reps Member-elect for Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency, Hon. Gboluga Ikengboju, leaders and representatives from the 18 Local Government Areas, dwelt on issues of party cohesion and the need to reposition the party to take back Power in Ondo State.
Welcoming members to the meeting, the State Party Chairman, Engr. Clement Faboyede thanked members for their sacrifices and efforts during the last general elections despite the huge logistical challenges.
While addressing the meeting, the Coordinator of the Presidential Campaign Council in Ondo State, Eyitayo Jegede SAN said: “Distinguished party leaders and men, this gathering provides us yet another opportunity at self-appraisal in our quest to daily fill the crevices and strengthen our bonds of unity, more than ever before, circumstances have positioned the PDP family in a unique place to again appreciate the aspirations and needs of Nigerians and their fears of a continuously dimming hope of the fulfillment of those aspirations under the present arrangement”.
He therefore said: “Beyond individual ambitions, now is the time to promote tendencies that unite, that will answer the daily hearty prayers of the people for the PDP that it remains intact and formidable enough to build on the gains recorded during the last elections”.
The meeting ended with various committees set up to address the various issues raised and report back with their findings and suggestions for moving forward.
